Job Description:

The Engineer – Production (Molding) will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring daily molding operations to achieve production targets while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and productivity standards. The role requires hands-on expertise in rubber, silicone, plastic molding processes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

- Execute daily production plans for molding machines as per schedule.
- Monitor and control molding processes to achieve production, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Ensure optimum machine utilization and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with Planning, Tool Room, Maintenance, Quality, and Stores departments for smooth operations.
- Ensure adherence to production SOPs, process parameters, and work instructions.

Process & Technical Management
- Set and monitor molding process parameters for consistent product quality.
- Troubleshoot molding defects and process-related issues.
- Support mold trials, process validation, and new product development activities.
- Optimize cycle time, material consumption, and machine productivity.
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.

Quality Assurance
- Ensure production activities comply with quality standards and specifications.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain production records, batch documentation, and traceability requirements.
- Support audits and compliance requirements.

Team Management
- Supervise machine operators and production technicians.
- Allocate manpower effectively across shifts.
- Conduct on-the-job training and skill development programs.
- Ensure discipline, safety awareness, and adherence to company policies.

Safety & Compliance




- Ensure compliance with EHS policies and secure work practices.
- Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards in the production area.
- Report and investigate safety incidents, near misses, and process deviations.

Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily production reports, rejection analysis, and efficiency reports.
- Monitor KPIs such as OEE, productivity, rejection rates, downtime, and material yield.
- Maintain shift-wise production records and machine performance data.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
- 2–6 years of experience in molding operations within rubber, silicone, plastic, medical devices, or polymer manufacturing industries.

Required Technical Skills

- Hands-on experience in:
- Compression Molding
- Injection Molding
- Transfer Molding
- Silicone & Rubber Molding Processes

- Knowledge of molding machine setup and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of process validation and quality control requirements.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, OEE, 5S, and TPM concepts.
- Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and cleanroom manufacturing practices is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
