Job Summary:
The HVAC Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems at project sites. The role ensures all HVAC work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, local regulations, and safety standards. Coordination with other engineering disciplines, subcontractors, and site personnel is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage on-site HVAC installation activities.
- Ensure HVAC systems (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ductwork, VRF/VRV systems, etc.)
are installed as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor project progress and prepare daily/weekly site reports.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other discipline engineers on site issues.
- Conduct inspections and quality control checks on installed systems.
- Manage materials on site, including receiving, storage, and verification of HVAC components.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
- Participate in technical meetings and provide input on design and construction issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC system issues during and after installation.
- Maintain documentation including method statements, inspection requests, and red-marked drawings.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
- Experience: 3–7 years of HVAC installation and supervision experience (construction or facilities projects preferred).
- Certifications: HVAC certification or local authority approvals (if applicable).
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and components
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent site supervision and project coordination skills
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and MS Office
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.)

- Review HVAC drawings, specifications, and contract documents before execution.
- Prepare and implement Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) plans.
- Conduct inspections for HVAC installation activities,
including ducting, piping, equipment installation, insulation, supports, and accessories.
- Ensure all materials delivered to the site meet approved specifications and project requirements.
- Raise and close inspection requests (IRs) with consultants/clients.
- Maintain QA/QC records, inspection reports, checklists, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and quality documentation.
- Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and clients regarding quality-related issues.
- Monitor installation work to ensure compliance with approved shop drawings, method statements, and relevant standards.
- Witness testing and commissioning activities of HVAC systems.
- Verify testing reports such as duct leakage tests, pressure tests, balancing reports, and performance test reports.
- Identify quality deviations and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Participate in internal quality audits and client inspections.
- Ensure compliance with project quality procedures, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Prepare final quality dossiers and handover documents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–8 years of experience in HVAC QA/QC within MEP, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installation standards, and testing & commissioning procedures.
- Familiarity with IS, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other relevant HVAC standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Good documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
