JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Typesetting Designer to join our pre-press and publishing team. This role requires a deep understanding of typesetting, page layout, and pre-press workflows. The ideal candidate will work independently on complex typesetting assignments including scientific, mathematical, multilingual, and design-driven content, ensuring accurate and print-ready outputs.

Key Responsibilities

Typesetting & Layout Design

- Independently typeset books, brochures, flyers, catalogs, and other print materials using professional layout software.
- Create and manage structured and flexible InDesign templates for various publishing formats.
- Prepare and adapt files for print from multiple input formats, including native design files, Word documents, and prewrapped artwork.
- Handle content-rich publications with mathematical equations, scientific data, tables, and multilingual text.

Design & Pre-Press Production

- Create high-quality layouts based on editorial and design specifications.
- Translate design knowledge into effective and technically sound layouts.
- Execute pre-flight checks and generate final print-ready files with consistency and accuracy.
- Ensure uniform styles, correct font usage, and proper image placements.

Technical Proficiency

- Manage OCR, typesetting corrections, and file format conversions.
- Conduct color correction and make minor graphic edits when necessary.
- Perform quality checks and ensure files meet internal and client standards.
- Maintain strong operational knowledge of industry tools and standards for print and digital outputs.

Communication & Collaboration

- Collaborate effectively with team leads, designers,



and project managers.
- Maintain clear communication with peers and management regarding progress and challenges.
- Meet production deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume workplace.

Required Qualifications

- Graduate or diploma holder in Print Publishing, Pre-Press, Desktop Publishing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–6 years of experience in professional typesetting and layout design.
- Strong understanding of print and pre-press production workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.

Typesetting Knowledge

- Typesetting in regional Indian and foreign languages
- Editorial markup handling in Word and InDesign
- Strong knowledge of fonts, font families, and document conversion formats

- Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDraw
- QuarkXPress
- XML-based publishing and automation tools
- Image creation and basic graphic design
