Job Title: Museum Curator
Job Summary:
Responsible for managing and maintaining the Medical College Museum by preserving specimens, organizing exhibits, maintaining records, and supporting teaching, learning, and research. Ensures the museum is safe, well-organized, and compliant with institutional and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and preserving anatomical, pathological, and other teaching specimens using appropriate preservation techniques.
- Cataloging, labeling, and maintaining accurate records of all museum collections.
- Ensuring specimens and exhibits are properly arranged, clean, and accessible for practical classes.
- Assisting faculty during demonstrations, practical sessions, examinations, and academic activities.
- Monitoring the condition of specimens and carrying out regular maintenance or replacement when required.
- Following biosafety protocols and ensuring safe handling, storage,
and disposal of chemicals such as formalin.
- Maintaining inventory, accession registers, visitor records, and other museum documentation.
- Coordinating with various departments for the collection, preparation, and display of current specimens.
- Supporting research, exhibitions, inspections, and accreditation visits by keeping the museum updated and compliant with institutional and regulatory standards.
- Guiding students and visitors by explaining exhibits and promoting the educational value of the museum.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Zoology
- Freshers are welcome
