Job Summary:

The Asst. Manager – EHS is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the factory’s Workplace, Health, and Safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize risk, and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national environmental and occupational health regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Interface with regulatory agencies during inspections, audits, or reporting.
- Maintain all necessary EHS documentation and permits.

2. Safety Management

- Lead the implementation of safety programs including hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
- Develop and enforce site-specific safety procedures (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, PPE usage, confined space entry).
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and drills.

3. Environmental Management

- Manage waste disposal, pollution control, water/air emissions, and environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws and reporting requirements (e.g., hazardous waste handling, water usage, emissions monitoring).
- Lead initiatives to reduce the factory’s carbon footprint and improve energy/resource efficiency.

4. Health & Wellness

- Oversee occupational health and hygiene programs including medical surveillance, noise/vibration control, ergonomics, and exposure monitoring.




- Collaborate with medical professionals to ensure workplace health and emergency medical preparedness.

5. Training & Communication

- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness and responsibility throughout the organization.
- Lead EHS committee meetings and represent EHS in leadership forums.

6. Incident Management

- Lead incident/accident investigations and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Report incidents to senior leadership and external authorities as required.

7. Team Leadership

- Manage and mentor the EHS team including safety officers and environmental specialists.
- Define roles, set goals, and ensure continuous development of the EHS team.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Science along with PIIS/ADIS.
- EHS certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, CSP, CIH) preferred.
- 8–15 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing industry, with at least 3–5 years in chemical manufacturing.

Key Skills:

- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
- Risk assessment and incident investigation skills.
- Effective leadership, communication, and training abilities.
- Proficient in EHS software, reporting tools, and data analysis.
- Crisis management and emergency response expertise.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per year
