Ferro Alloys is a very critical area as a huge quantity of raw materials is received and unloaded at different locations such as 60 MVA RMHS, 27.6 MVA RMHS, Briquette Shed, Molasses Tank, Bentonite Shed, Pellet Plant, etc.
At present, sampling activities in all areas are being covered by samplers; however, chemist coverage is not possible in all locations simultaneously because unloading activities are carried out at the same time in different areas. Currently, one chemist is supervising all areas, which is insufficient.
As per vigilance requirements, the presence of a chemist during unloading and sampling activities is mandatory. Therefore, to ensure 100% chemist presence during sampling activities in all shifts, an additional requirement of 5 chemists is needed for A, B, C, G shifts, including one reliever/off-shift arrangement.
