Job Summary:

The Senior Officer - Packaging Development will be responsible for leading and executing packaging development projects from conceptualization to successful launch. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, researching new materials, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing packaging solutions for cost-effectiveness and sustainability. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in packaging materials and processes, coupled with excellent project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage packaging development projects for current product introductions, product renovations, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Conduct thorough research and evaluation of new packaging materials, technologies, and suppliers to identify innovative and sustainable solutions.
- Collaborate closely with R&D;, Marketing, Production, Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance teams to define packaging requirements and integrate packaging solutions seamlessly into product development cycles.
- Develop detailed packaging specifications, technical drawings, and testing protocols for various packaging components (e.g., primary, secondary, tertiary packaging).




- Oversee and participate in packaging trials, performance testing, and stability studies to validate material suitability, product protection, and shelf-life requirements.
- Manage relationships with external packaging suppliers and vendors, including negotiating terms, evaluating performance, and ensuring consistent quality and supply.
- Ensure all packaging designs and materials comply with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EU regulations, food contact materials), and internal quality guidelines.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in packaging materials, design, and processes without compromising quality or functionality.
- Drive sustainability initiatives within packaging development, exploring eco-friendly materials, reducing waste, and improving recyclability.
- Troubleshoot and provide technical support for packaging-related issues encountered during manufacturing, distribution, and consumer use.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in packaging development to continuously enhance departmental capabilities.
