Job description
The Production Engineer is responsible for building, inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). This role ensures all electronic products meet strict industry workmanship standards, performance metrics, and safety guidelines.
Role & responsibilities
- Experience in soldering Surface Mount (SMD) and Through-Hole (TH) components.
- Experience in inspecting solder joints as per IPC-A-610 workmanship standards.
- Valuable knowledge of ESD handling and IPC-A-610 requirements.
- Electronic component analysis and identification.
- Ability to read and understand Bills of Materials (BOM) and Assembly Drawings.
- Testing of PCB assemblies.
- Performing root cause analysis for failures and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintaining production and testing records/documentation.
Preferred candidate profile
- Electronic component identification
- Ability to understand electronic circuits and circuit diagrams/schematics
- Ability to perform soldering based on circuit diagrams and assembly drawings
- Knowledge of manual soldering and SMT soldering processes
- PCB testing and troubleshooting
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Handling and usage of testing equipment
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards and ESD handling Work.
