Job Summary

The Setter cum Programmer – Machine Shop is responsible for setting, programming, operating, and optimizing CNC machines to ensure productive production, quality standards, and timely delivery of machined components. The role involves machine setup, program development, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up CNC machines as per production requirements.
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for machining operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine parameters.
- Conduct first-off inspections and ensure component quality meets specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments during production.
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain production records and machine setup documentation.
- Ensure proper machine maintenance and housekeeping practices.
- Follow company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality,



and Maintenance teams to achieve production targets.

Qualification & Experience

- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or related field.
- Minimum 3–7 years of experience in CNC machine setting and programming.
- Experience with CNC Turning Centers, VMC, HMC, or Multi-axis machines preferred.
- Knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls.
