Role Overview

Lead and execute a high-impact, pan-India 5G network operations strategy that delivers reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient network performance across tower sites, spectrum assets, and vendor ecosystems. This role is accountable for ensuring seamless 5G rollout readiness, operational excellence, and cross-functional execution that supports business growth, customer experience, and long-term network resilience.

Responsibilities

- Own the end-to-end network operations strategy for a pan-India 5G rollout, ensuring delivery against timelines, quality standards, and business priorities.
- Lead planning, deployment, optimization, and stabilization of large-scale tower site rollouts across multiple geographies.
- Drive spectrum planning, utilization, coordination, and operational readiness in alignment with rollout and capacity requirements.
- Build and manage robust vendor and partner relationships, including negotiation of commercials, SLAs, delivery milestones, and governance mechanisms.
- Oversee network operations processes to ensure uptime, reliability, fault resolution, preventive maintenance, and incident management at scale.
- Partner with engineering, rollout, finance, procurement, regulatory, and field operations teams to align execution and resolve dependencies.
- Establish operational KPIs, dashboards, and governance forums to monitor network performance, rollout progress, and vendor accountability.
- Identify risks, constraints, and execution bottlenecks early and implement mitigation plans to protect deployment schedules and service quality.




- Lead and develop a high-performing operations organization, including site management, program execution, and field coordination teams.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, safety, and internal governance requirements across all deployment and operational activities.
- Optimize operational costs by improving deployment efficiency, vendor productivity, and asset utilization without compromising service quality.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for critical network issues, major rollout blockers, and strategic partner negotiations.

Qualifications

Required

- 15+ years of experience in telecom operations, network operations, or large-scale infrastructure deployment
- Proven leadership experience managing pan-India or multi-region telecom operations
- Demonstrated success in 5G rollout, tower site deployment, or network expansion programs
- Strong experience in vendor negotiations, SLA management, and operational governance
- Deep understanding of spectrum planning and telecom network execution
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in a senior leadership capacity
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field

Preferred

- MBA, PGDM, or equivalent management qualification
- Experience in a top-tier telecom operator, infrastructure provider, tower company, or network services organization
- Certification or formal training in project/program management, operations leadership, or telecom network planning
- Experience working with 5G rollout, radio network operations, or large-capacity network programs
- Exposure to regulatory coordination, procurement strategy, or commercial contracting in telecom
