Job Description
1. Core Objective
To lead the academic delivery of Human Physiology, fostering a deep understanding of functional bodily systems among students, while driving the department's research output and adhering to Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) standards.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Academic Instruction:
- Deliver high-level lectures on complex systems (Neurophysiology, Endocrinology, Cardiovascular, and Renal Physiology).
- Supervise Hematology and Amphibian/Mammalian experiments (using simulations where live animals are restricted).
- Implement Clinical Physiology sessions, including ECG, Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT), and Electromyography (EMG).
- Coordinate Vertical and Horizontal Integration with clinical departments (e.g., correlating Cardiac Physiology with Cardiology).
- Postgraduate Training & Research:
- Serve as a PG Guide for MD Physiology students (requires 5 years of teaching experience post-MD).
- Oversee the departmental research lab and encourage faculty/student research projects.
- Ensure the department meets publication quotas for NMC inspections.
- Administrative & Regulatory Oversight:
- Assist the HOD in internal assessment planning and university exam conduct.
- Manage the procurement and maintenance of sophisticated lab equipment (PowerLab, Treadmills, etc.).
- Participate in Institutional Ethics Committees or Curriculum Committees.

Academic Qualification
MBBS with MD/MS in Physiology from a recognized institution.
Teaching Experience
Minimum 5 years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in Physiology.
Research Publications
Minimum 4 research publications in indexed journals (at least 2 as an Associate Professor and 2 as an Assistant Professor).
