The Cashier is responsible for providing productive billing services, handling customer payments, maintaining cash accuracy, supporting inventory management, and assisting in stock audits to ensure smooth store operations and an excellent customer experience.

Role & responsibilities

Cash & Billing
Process customer transactions accurately through the POS system.
Accept payments through cash, cards, UPI, and other approved payment modes.
Maintain cash accuracy and reconcile cash at the beginning and end of each shift.
Handle refunds, exchanges, credit notes, and gift vouchers as per company policy.
Ensure proper documentation and deposit of daily cash collections.

Customer Service
Deliver a courteous and qualified customer experience.
Resolve basic customer billing queries efficiently.
Coordinate with the sales team for seamless customer service.

Inventory & Stock Management
Assist in daily stock reconciliation between physical stock and system records.
Support stock inward, outward, transfers, and stock movement documentation.
Maintain proper records of packaging materials, shopping bags, and cashier stationery.
Ensure accurate tagging and billing of merchandise.

Stock Audit
Participate in daily,



weekly, monthly, and annual stock audits.
Identify and report stock discrepancies immediately.
Assist in inventory verification and ensure compliance with stock control procedures.
Coordinate with the Store Manager during internal and external audits.

Compliance & Store Operations
Follow company SOPs, billing policies, and cash handling procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of financial and customer information.
Support the store team during peak business hours and special events.
Ensure the cashier counter is clean, organized, and audit-ready at all times.

Required Qualifications
Graduate or equivalent.
13 years of experience as a Cashier in retail, preferably in fashion or apparel.
Working knowledge of POS systems, MS Excel, and inventory processes.
Good numerical ability and attention to detail.
Robust communication and customer service skills.
