Job Summary

The CMM Engineer is responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect precision-manufactured components. The role ensures that products meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards by performing dimensional inspections, generating inspection reports, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and program CMM equipment for dimensional inspection of machined and manufactured components.
- Develop, modify, and optimise CMM inspection programs based on engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T; requirements.
- Perform first article, in-process, final, and incoming inspections.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T;).
- Generate and maintain inspection reports and quality documentation.
- Identify dimensional deviations and communicate findings to production and engineering teams.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to quality issues.
- Ensure calibration and preventive maintenance of CMM equipment.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (if applicable), and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Collaborate with Production, Design, and Quality teams to improve product quality and inspection efficiency.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure traceability of measured components.
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering,



Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2–8 years of experience in CMM operation and programming within a precision manufacturing setting.
- Hands-on experience with CMM software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso (Zeiss), MODUS, MCOSMOS, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T;, and dimensional metrology.
- Familiarity with quality systems and inspection methodologies.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of CNC machining processes.
- Experience with CAD software and 3D models.
- Understanding of SPC, MSA, FAI, PPAP, and APQP.
- Exposure to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100 quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage inspection priorities.

Pay: ₹324,866.97 - ₹1,422,063.07 per year
