Lead Data Scientist / AI/ML Engineer

We are hiring for one of our leading BFSI clients.

An exciting opportunity for experienced AI/ML professionals to lead large-scale, production-grade Machine Learning initiatives across Credit Risk, Fraud Risk Management, and Collections. This role is ideal for technology leaders with deep expertise in AI Engineering, MLOps, and enterprise-scale Machine Learning platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead AI Product Pods across Credit Risk, Fraud Risk Management, and Collections.
- Build, deploy, and maintain production-scale Machine Learning systems supporting the lending lifecycle.
- Own the complete Machine Learning lifecycle, including feature engineering, model development, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, retraining, and optimization.
- Design and implement scalable distributed Machine Learning infrastructure, including Feature Stores, Model Registries, MLOps pipelines, and model serving platforms.
- Develop AI solutions for Credit Underwriting, Fraud Detection, Portfolio Risk Monitoring, Anomaly Detection, Collections Optimization, Propensity Modeling, Early Warning Systems, and Recovery Forecasting.
- Ensure model governance, explainability, monitoring, auditability, compliance, and secure-by-design AI architecture aligned with BFSI regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, Risk,



and Business stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Define AI platform architecture, operational excellence, SLA management, production monitoring, and incident management practices.
- Lead, mentor, and build high-performing AI Engineering and Data Science teams while driving end-to-end project delivery.

Mandatory Requirements

- 10+ years of experience in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or AI Engineering.
- Proven experience building and deploying production-grade Machine Learning systems in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience delivering AI/ML solutions for Credit Risk, Fraud Risk Management (FRM), Collections, and Recovery.
- Current designation must be Lead, Principal, Engineering Manager, Associate Director, Director, or equivalent leadership role.
- Robust expertise in Python with hands-on experience in Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, APIs, Microservices, CI/CD, Feature Store, Model Registry, and Distributed Computing.
- Experience designing and deploying large-scale distributed Machine Learning systems, including model training, fine-tuning, inference, scalable serving, and production deployment.
- Strong experience developing Credit Risk Models, Fraud Detection Models, Graph ML solutions, Early Warning Systems, Portfolio Monitoring Models, Collections Optimization Models, Propensity Models, and Recovery Forecasting Models.
- Demonstrated success leading AI/ML teams, mentoring engineers, managing production AI platforms, and driving cross-functional execution.
- Strong understanding of BFSI governance, including PII handling,



model governance, auditability, approval workflows, compliance, model risk management, and secure AI architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

- Current experience with Banking, NBFC, FinTech, Product Companies, Global Capability Centers (GCCs), or Financial Services organizations.
- Experience building Enterprise AI Platforms using Graph ML, Vector Databases, LLM-enabled Decisioning, Distributed Training Frameworks, and Large-scale AI Infrastructure.
- Indian professionals currently working overseas and planning to relocate to India are encouraged to apply.

Education

- B.Tech/M.Tech from Tier-1 Institutes (IIT, NIT, or BITS).

Additional Requirements

- Age: Below 37 years.
- Compensation Structure: 75% Fixed + 25% Variable.
