Apt Resources is seeking an experienced Diamond Evaluator to join our client’s mining operations team in Angola. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in evaluating, grading, and valuing rough diamonds, ensuring compliance with international standards and industry best practices. This role is key in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the diamond classification and reporting process.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluation & Grading:
Examine rough diamonds using loupe, microscope, and other gemological tools.
Grade diamonds based on the 4Cs – Carat, Color, Clarity, and Cut potential.

Valuation:
Estimate market value of diamonds using current pricing data and knowledge of international diamond markets.

Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of diamond parcels and evaluation results for daily reporting.

Collaboration:
Work closely with geologists, mining engineers, and security teams to ensure secure and secure handling and transport of mined stones.
Degree or certification in Gemology, Geology,



Mining Engineering, or related field.
Professional training in diamond evaluation from institutions such as GIA, HRD, or equivalent.
Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in diamond sorting and valuation.
Strong knowledge of the Kimberley Process and diamond industry standards.
High precision in grading and robust documentation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and in remote mining settings.
Excellent ethical standards, discretion, and attention to detail.
Fluent in Portuguese and/or English.
Prior experience working in African mining sites is highly preferred.
Monthly salary of USD 5 - 7k plus commission
