For our office in Rotterdam we are looking for a creative architect with an entrepreneurial mind and at least six years of practical experience.

We are looking for an architect who will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading architecture and interior design projects, strengthening our design presence in Europe.

The existing team consists of architects and interior designers who work closely and collaboratively. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of and grow the portfolio, driving creative direction while enjoying significant autonomy. You’ll have the freedom to shape the studio’s direction, supported by a wider, well-respected team of around 40 professionals. Our work spans various sectors and disciplines, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.

This role is best suited to creative thinkers, business-minded leaders, and storytellers—someone who is commercially astute and confident in managing the business development side of a design team. Applicants must have demonstrable experience in securing and managing projects, with a strong ability to build relationships and win new work in private residential, hospitality, and medium-scale public commissions.

It’s an ideal opportunity for a key figurehead ready to step away from a larger environment and take on a more independent, influential role within a collaborative design studio.

Key Responsibilities

Lead projects from initial client engagement through to completion, reporting directly to the directors.

Shape and oversee a portfolio of architecture and interior projects, ensuring the highest design and delivery standards.

Identify growth opportunities by understanding the studio’s strengths and potential areas for expansion.





Develop and analyze project briefs in collaboration with the team.

Oversee project finances, set strategic financial goals, and contribute to the studio’s growth strategy.

Represent the studio at industry events, networking functions, and competitions.

Drive new business and client development through strong storytelling and design strategies.

Collaborate with the press and communications team on content, social media, newsletters, and branding material.

Mentor and lead a team of architects and designers, fostering professional growth and strong delegation.

Qualities and Skills required

Qualified Architect or Interior Designer with a minimum of 8+ years of qualified experience.

Experience in hospitality (hotels/F&B;), private residential, or medium-scale public sector projects.

A proven track record of winning work and maintaining a network of clients in the private residential or hospitality sector.

Expertise in public tenders and design competitions.

Strong understanding of design, construction, and refurbishment processes.

Confident in pitching and presenting ideas to clients and stakeholders at all levels.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to report clearly on project and team performance.

Fluent in Dutch and English
