About the Role

Bajaj Finserv is looking for an experienced Lead Data Scientist / AI/ML Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-scale AI/ML platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with deep expertise in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk Management (FRM), Collections & Recovery, and large-scale machine learning systems within the BFSI domain.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end design, development, deployment, and optimization of production-grade AI/ML solutions.
- Build scalable machine learning platforms for Credit Risk, Fraud Detection, Collections, Recovery, and Portfolio Monitoring.
- Design and deploy distributed ML systems, including model training, fine-tuning, inference, scalable serving, and production deployment.
- Develop enterprise AI solutions using Python, Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, APIs/Microservices, Feature Stores, Model Registry, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement advanced AI capabilities such as Graph ML, Vector Databases, LLM-enabled decisioning, and distributed AI infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with BFSI governance standards, including model governance, auditability, PII handling, secure-by-design architecture, approval workflows, and model risk management.
- Lead AI/ML engineering teams, mentor technical talent, and collaborate with business, product, and engineering stakeholders to deliver impactful AI solutions.

Mandatory Requirements

- 10+ years of experience in Data Science, AI/ML Engineering, or Machine Learning Engineering.
- Current designation must be Lead or above (Lead / Principal / Engineering Manager / Associate Director / Director).




- Hands-on experience building production-grade AI/ML systems.
- Strong expertise in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk Management (FRM), Collections & Recovery with successful delivery of business-critical AI solutions.
- Experience designing and deploying:

- Portfolio Monitoring Models
- Collections Optimization Models

- Recovery Forecasting Models
- Strong programming expertise in Python with hands-on experience in:
- Apache Spark
- Kafka
- Kubernetes
- APIs & Microservices
- CI/CD
- Feature Store
- Model Registry
- Distributed Computing
- Proven leadership experience managing AI/ML teams, mentoring engineers, and owning end-to-end delivery.
- Strong experience working within BFSI governance, including PII handling, auditability, compliance, model governance, secure architecture, and model risk management.
- B.Tech/M.Tech from Tier-1 Institutes (IITs, NITs, BITS).
- Candidate age should be below 37 years.

Preferred Profile

- Currently working in Product Companies, FinTech, Banking, NBFC, or Global Capability Centers (GCCs).
- Professionals currently working overseas (NRI) who are planning to relocate permanently to India are encouraged to apply.
- Experience building enterprise AI platforms using Graph ML, Vector Databases, LLM-enabled decisioning, distributed training frameworks, and large-scale AI infrastructure.
