Position Overview

The Electrical Engineer Cum Project Manager is responsible for overall project planning, technical execution, BIM coordination, and end-to-end management of electrical engineering projects. This role combines technical expertise in power systems, detailed design calculations, and single-line diagrams with complete project management—ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with local regulatory and international engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management & Execution

- End-to-End Delivery: Plan, execute, and monitor electrical engineering projects from inception through commissioning and handover, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
- Scope & Change Control: Review and validate project scope, manage change requests, develop and track project schedules, and proactively identify project risks.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams; lead regular status meetings and provide progress updates.
- Multidisciplinary Leadership: Lead, direct, and coordinate multidisciplinary design and execution teams to maintain seamless workflow and high productivity.

2. Technical Engineering & Design Review

- Perform technical reviews of electrical drawings, technical submittals, and engineering calculations to ensure design integrity and code compliance.
- Prepare, review, and validate key electrical design deliverables, including:
- Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and Distribution Board (DB) Schedules
- Cable Size Calculations and Voltage Drop Calculations
- Electrical Load Calculations & Demand Load Analysis
- Short Circuit Studies
- Lighting Design & Calculations

- Earthing & Lightning Protection Systems
- Power Distribution Systems (MV Switchgear, Transformers, UPS, PDU/RPP, Generators, ATS)
- Emergency Power & ELV Systems

3. Virtual Site Supervision, Estimation & Cost Control

· Virtual Site Monitoring: Physical presence on-site is not required; site supervision and progress tracking for this role are conducted via virtual site monitoring. Conduct continuous site monitoring virtually using digital tools, feeds, and reports; oversee remote engineering activities, supervise installation progress, and ensure work matches approved design drawings.

- Estimation & Quantity Surveying: Prepare and verify Estimation of Quantities (EOQ), Material Take-off (MTO), and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) to support procurement and cost management.
- Budget Tracking: Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, control material usage, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

4. BIM Coordination & Digital Engineering

- Perform technical reviews and BIM coordination using Revit MEP and Navisworks.
- Oversee BIM workflows, conduct clash detection/coordination, and review 3D models across multidisciplinary teams.

5. Quality Assurance, Safety & Compliance

- Conduct technical quality audits and design reviews at critical project stages.
- Ensure full compliance with GCC regulations, international engineering codes, and project specifications.

- Monitor contractor compliance with approved drawings and specifications; remotely oversee testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies virtually across all project execution stages.

6. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain complete project records, design change logs, review comments, method statements, and technical progress reports.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution.
- Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering design, remote execution/supervision, and project management.
- Regional Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in any GCC country is mandatory.
- Software Proficiency:
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with electrical calculation software (e.g., ETAP, Dialux).
- Experience with project management software (MS Project or Primavera P6).
- Certifications (Preferred): PMP® (Project Management Qualified) or equivalent.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Technical Core: Single Line Diagrams (SLD), DB schedules, cable sizing & voltage drop calculations, power distribution, BIM workflows, load calculations, MV/LV design, and local regulatory codes (DEWA/ADDC/SEWA).
- Project & Remote Supervision: Virtual site monitoring, EOQ preparation, schedule management, budget tracking, risk mitigation, and change control.
