The 2nd Class Boiler Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a wood-fired boiler system to ensure a consistent supply of steam at the required temperature and pressure for operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Load and manage wood fuel in the boiler furnace to maintain continuous operation.
Monitor and control boiler temperature and pressure as per required settings.
Adjust fuel input and airflow to achieve and maintain desired steam output.
Ensure proper water level in the boiler by monitoring and regulating feed water supply.
Set and maintain temperature according to operational requirements.
Supply steam to designated areas as per demand and operational needs.
Conduct regular checks on boiler systems, valves, gauges, and safety devices.
Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of the boiler area.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines during boiler operation.
Report any faults, malfunctions, or maintenance needs to the supervisor immediately.
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of boiler operations (wood-fired preferred).
Ability to understand temperature and pressure controls.
Awareness of safety practices in boiler handling.
Physically fit to handle manual loading of wood fuel.
Responsible and attentive to operational details.
Working Conditions:

May require shift-based duty depending on operations.
