Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
Experience
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in utility operations and projects, preferably in the solar cell, semiconductor, electronics, or similar process industries.
Job Knowledge
The candidate should have sound knowledge of:
- Ultra Pure Water (UPW) systems used in solar cell/semiconductor manufacturing.
- Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), water recycling systems, and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plant operation and maintenance.
- Utility system design, engineering, equipment selection, and process optimization.
- Project planning, execution, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Mechanical and process piping, pumps, valves, tanks, filtration systems, RO, UF, EDI, mixed bed, and associated utility equipment.
- Water treatment chemistry, chemical dosing, effluent testing, and treatment processes.
- Preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.
- Environmental, health, and safety regulations and statutory compliance.
- Pollution Control Board (PCB) guidelines, approvals, consent requirements, and documentation.
- Budgeting, cost control, spare parts management, and vendor coordination.
- Preparation of SOPs, work instructions, and maintenance documentation
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operation and maintenance of UPW, ETP, Recycling, and ZLD plants to ensure uninterrupted utility supply.
- Plan, review, and execute the design, engineering, installation, testing, commissioning, and performance validation of new utility systems and expansion projects.
- Manage complete utility projects from concept to commissioning while ensuring quality, safety, budget compliance, and adherence to project schedules.
- Coordinate with consultants, equipment suppliers, contractors,
and cross-functional departments for successful project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely completion of all project milestones.
- Prepare project schedules, resource plans, cost estimates, technical specifications, BOQs, and progress reports.
- Ensure all utility systems achieve the required process performance and quality standards after commissioning.
- Monitor plant performance, water quality, and system efficiency to meet production requirements.
- Ensure compliance with PCB norms, environmental regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Supervise chemical dosing, water and effluent analysis, and treatment processes.
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure safe operation of all utility systems by implementing EHS standards and permitto-work practices.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports, utility consumption reports, and cost analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize utility consumption, chemical usage, and operating costs.
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of critical spares.
- Lead, train, and develop engineers, supervisors, operators, and technicians.
- Support internal, customer, and statutory audits, including ISO and PCB inspections.
