Job Description- Production Supervisor

Position: Production Supervisor – Ramming Mass

Location : Plant Gidani (Rajasthan)

Reporting To : Plant Head

Role Purpose

The Production Supervisor – Ramming Mass is responsible for supervising day-to-day production activities, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining product quality, safety, process efficiency, and optimum utilization of manpower and resources. The role focuses on smooth plant operations, adherence to quality standards, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

- Execute daily production plans as per the approved schedule.
- Monitor batch preparation, mixing, blending, and packing operations of ramming mass.
- Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Minimize production losses and downtime.
- Coordinate with Planning and Stores for uninterrupted availability of raw materials.

Process Monitoring

- Monitor critical process parameters throughout production.
- Ensure correct batching and formulation as per approved specifications.
- Maintain consistency in product quality across all production batches.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Quality Assurance

- Coordinate with the Quality Control department for sampling and testing.
- Ensure only approved raw materials are used in production.
- Prevent quality deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain production records and batch traceability.

Manpower Management

- Allocate work among operators and helpers.
- Monitor workforce productivity and attendance.
- Train new employees on production processes and safety practices.
- Maintain discipline and encourage teamwork on the shop floor.

Safety & Compliance





- Ensure compliance with EHS policies and statutory regulations.
- Promote the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Conduct daily safety inspections of the production area.
- Report and investigate unsafe conditions and near-miss incidents.

Equipment & Maintenance Coordination

- Monitor the performance of mixers, conveyors, packing machines, and other production equipment.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with the Maintenance Department.
- Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently.

Inventory & Material Control

- Monitor consumption of raw materials and packing materials.
- Minimize wastage and improve material utilization.
- Maintain proper stock records of finished goods and production consumables.

Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain daily production reports, shift reports, and machine utilization records.
- Record production output, downtime, rejection, and material consumption.
- Submit daily MIS reports to the Production Manager.

Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.

Qualifications

- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, Production, Industrial Engineering, Ceramic Technology, or a related discipline.

Experience

- 4–8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Ramming Mass, Refractory, Quartz, Silica, Minerals, Ceramic, or Foundry industries will be preferred.
