About the Role

Stark Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and technically competent Project Engineer – Mechanical to support the delivery of high-rise building projects in the UAE. As a PMC (Project Management Consultancy), we require a professional with strong mechanical engineering expertise and a good understanding of BIM workflows to review, coordinate, and manage mechanical systems throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in HVAC design calculations, mechanical system reviews, BIM-based coordination, and project execution for residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, and high-rise developments.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Engineering & Design Review

- Perform and review HVAC load calculations, ventilation calculations, cooling and heating load assessments, and equipment sizing.
- Review mechanical design drawings, specifications, and technical submissions for compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Evaluate HVAC systems, ventilation systems, smoke management systems, plumbing systems, firefighting systems, and associated building services.
- Review equipment selections including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, ventilation fans, pressurization systems, and firefighting equipment.
- Verify design compliance with local authority requirements, international standards, and project specifications.
- Review mechanical layouts, schematics, riser diagrams, and coordination drawings.

BIM & Technical Coordination

- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and multidisciplinary design reviews.
- Review Mechanical BIM models and ensure compliance with project BIM standards and requirements.
- Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection disciplines to resolve design and construction conflicts.
- Support clash detection reviews and ensure timely closure of coordination issues.




- Utilize BIM models for design validation, coordination, and project monitoring.

Project Management & Site Coordination

- Monitor project progress and support timely delivery of mechanical works.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions from contractors.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Support project planning, technical issue resolution, and risk mitigation activities.
- Review RFIs, technical queries, and contractor proposals.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with UAE regulations, international codes, and project requirements.
- Conduct technical reviews to maintain quality standards during design and construction stages.
- Monitor contractor compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
- Support testing, commissioning, inspections, and project handover activities.

Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare technical reports, review comments, project updates, and coordination records.
- Maintain project documentation and track design revisions and approvals.
- Support project managers in preparing project progress reports and technical assessments.

Requirements & QualificationsExperience

- 4–8 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering for building construction projects.
- Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on UAE/GCC projects is highly preferred.
- Experience in PMC, consultancy, or contractor environments will be an advantage.

Technical Expertise

- Strong knowledge of building mechanical systems and HVAC engineering.




- Hands-on experience in:

- Chilled Water Systems
- Plumbing Systems
- Firefighting Systems
- Smoke Management & Pressurization Systems

- Energy-Efficient Building Services Design
- Familiarity with ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, SMACNA, and relevant UAE/GCC standards.

BIM & Software Skills

- Good understanding of BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Ability to review and coordinate BIM models.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Revit MEP and Navisworks.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Experience with HAP, Carrier E20, Duct Sizer, Pipe Sizer, or similar HVAC design software is preferred.
- Familiarity with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is desirable.

Education

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

- Experience reviewing BIM deliverables and coordinating with BIM teams.
- PMP or other project management certifications will be an added advantage.
