Role & responsibilities

Trust & Governance
• Handle all legal matters related to Trust Deeds, Amendments, By-laws, Resolutions, and Minutes
• Ensure compliance with Indian Trust Act, Societies Act, Public Trust Act, and other applicable laws
• Advise Trustees and senior management on governance, legal structuring, and statutory obligations.
Documentation & Compliance
• Draft, vet, and review all agreements, MoUs, contracts, affidavits, deeds, and legal correspondence
• Maintain and audit complete legal documentation of the Trust and all its institutions
• Ensure timely filings with Charity Commissioner, Registrar, Courts, Government Bodies, and Regulatory Authorities
Litigation & Legal Strategy
• Coordinate with external counsels for ongoing litigation
• Prepare briefs, documentation, and case strategy for court matters
• Track cases, notices, and legal deadlines across all Trust entities
Property & Institutional Matters
• Handle legal documentation related to land, leases, licenses, conveyance deeds, and property disputes
• Ensure transparent title documentation and compliance for Trust-owned properties
• Support expansion, acquisition, and institutional development from a legal standpoint




Regulatory & Education Law
• Advise on compliance related to UGC, AICTE, MCI/NMC, INC, PCI, NAAC, NBA, and other regulators
• Review statutory approvals, affiliations, and inspections from a legal lens
• Support current institutions, programs and approvals
Risk Management
• Identify legal risks and propose mitigation strategies
• Ensure preventive legal compliance to avoid disputes
• Maintain confidentiality and always uphold the Trusts reputation

Preferred candidate profile

Experience Required
Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience as a practicing lawyer, with proven experience handling trusts, societies, or large educational institutions.
• LL.B. (Mandatory)
• LL.M. preferred
• Registered with the Bar Council of India

Robust command over Trust Law, Education Law, Property Law, Contract Law
• Excellent drafting, interpretation, and negotiation skills
• Ability to handle complex, multi-institution legal structures
• High integrity, discretion, and accountability
• Strong coordination skills with trustees, management, government offices, and advocates
