Backend Engineer

Experience: 6 - 11 Years
Location: Bangalore

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to build and scale high-performance backend systems and data infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in backend development, distributed systems, search technologies, and cloud-based applications.

Job Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
Build and monitor infrastructure supporting data-intensive applications.
Collaborate with data scientists, frontend engineers, and product teams to deliver robust solutions.
Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency backend systems.
Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
Follow software engineering best practices, write clean, maintainable code, and ensure high unit test coverage.
Evaluate and adopt recent technologies to improve system performance and developer productivity.

Required Skills:
6 - 11 years of backend development experience.
Robust programming skills in Java, Scala, or Python.
Experience designing and developing REST APIs and Microservices.




Strong knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Vector Embeddings, and large-scale search systems.
Experience building high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
Robust understanding of performance tuning, caching, load balancing, rate limiting, and scalability.
Experience with UNIX/Linux, Shell Scripting, and Jenkins.
Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and software development best practices.
Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with FastAPI or Pylons framework.
Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, or Celery.
Hands-on experience designing systems that support millions of requests and large-scale datasets.
Experience using AI Coding Assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, etc.) to improve engineering productivity.
Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, and Redshift.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
