Key Responsibilities
Plant Operation & Performance
Supervise daily operation of STP and ETP units to ensure effective treatment results.
Monitor process parameters (flow, turbidity, BOD/COD, sludge levels).
Optimize treatment processes to achieve regulatory compliance.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical, electrical and process equipment.
Diagnose plant malfunctions and coordinate repairs.
Ensure smooth functioning of pumps, blowers, aerators, clarifiers, filters, etc.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure plant complies with environmental regulations (e.g., CPCB/GPCB standards).
Maintain safety standards and enforce PPE usage.
Prepare reports and documentation for audits and inspections.
Technical & Process Engineering
Support process design improvements and plant upgrades.
Conduct root cause analysis for performance issues.
Participate in commissioning and start-up of recent systems.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate logs of plant operations.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
Track reagent and chemical usage (e.g., dosing in ETP).
Coordination & Communication
Work with contractors, vendors, consultants, and project managers.
Coordinate with lab technicians for testing and QA/QC activities.
Train operators and technicians on best practices.
Qualifications & Skills
Educational
B.Tech / B.E. in Environmental / Chemical / Civil / Mechanical Engineering
Diploma or certification in wastewater treatment is a plus.
Skilled Experience
Preferably 3–7+ years of experience in STP/ETP operations and maintenance or related engineering roles.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes (biological/chemical/physical).
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs;, process drawings.
Familiar with safety and environmental compliance standards.
