Key responsibilities
Strategy and planning:
Develop and implement purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures to support organizational goals.
Supplier management:
Research, evaluate, and select vendors; negotiate contracts and pricing; and build and maintain robust relationships with suppliers.
Procurement execution:
Oversee the purchase order process, monitor inventory levels, and ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
Cost control and analysis:
Track expenditures, analyze data to identify cost-saving prospects, and manage the purchasing department budget.
Team leadership:
Manage, train, and develop the purchasing team, including hiring and setting departmental goals.
Quality and compliance:
Ensure that procured items meet quality standards and that all purchasing activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
Cross-functional collaboration:
Work with other departments to understand their procurement needs and to ensure the supply chain supports production and operations.
