ROLE DESCRIPTION

Function: Engineering

Sub Function: Civil engineering

Role: Quality Control Engineer (Civil Engineering)

Location: Site (Gajularamaram; Domalaguda; Kompally; Kukatpally)

Designation: Quantity Control

Reporting to: Project Manager

Purpose of the Role:

- The Quality Control Engineer (Civil Construction) is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are executed in compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
- The role focuses on monitoring workmanship, materials, and construction processes to ensure high-quality project delivery.
- The QC Engineer works closely with project teams, contractors, consultants, and vendors to identify quality issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain quality documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Planning & Implementation:

- Implement the approved Quality Management System (QMS) at the project site.
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, BOQs, method statements, and specifications.
- Prepare, review, and implement Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Checklists.
- Coordinate with consultants and clients for inspections, approvals, and quality-related submissions.
- Ensure all quality procedures are communicated and followed by site teams and subcontractors

Material Inspection & Control:

- Inspect incoming construction materials to ensure compliance with approved material submittals and standards.
- Maintain material inspection records, test certificates, and approvals.
- Coordinate laboratory and field testing of materials such as concrete, steel, soil, aggregates, and other construction materials.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and usage of materials at site to avoid quality deterioration.

Site Execution & Workmanship Control:

- Monitor on-site construction activities to ensure workmanship meets quality standards and approved specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections for civil & Finishing works including RCC, masonry, plastering, finishing, waterproofing, and allied works.
- Identify non-conformities (NCRs), issue corrective/preventive actions, and ensure timely closure.
- Verify dimensions,



levels, alignments, and tolerances during execution.
- Support the site team in resolving technical and quality-related issues.

Testing, Inspection & Documentation:

- Plan and witness all required inspections and tests as per ITPs and project requirements.
- Maintain quality records including inspection reports, test results, pour cards, cube test results, and checklists.
- Prepare and submit quality-related reports to the Project Manager and senior management.
- Ensure proper documentation for handover, including as-built drawings and quality dossiers.

Compliance & Audit:

- Ensure compliance with relevant IS codes, standards, contractual requirements, and statutory regulations.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality norms at the site in coordination with HSE teams.
- Continuously monitor and improve quality processes to prevent recurring issues.

Coordination & Communication:

- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure quality expectations are met.
- Provide guidance and training to site staff and contractors on quality standards and best practices.
- Communicate quality issues, risks, and improvement measures effectively to stakeholders.
- Work closely with planning and execution teams to ensure quality is integrated into all project activities.

Ideal Candidate for the role:

Knowledge:

- Strong knowledge of civil construction practices, materials, and quality control procedures.
- Thorough understanding of IS codes, construction specifications, and quality standards.
- Knowledge of RCC works, finishing works, waterproofing, and MEP interfaces (basic level).
- Familiarity with quality documentation systems, ITPs, method statements, and audits.




- Understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to construction projects.

Skills:

- Strong inspection and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to identify quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Effective communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and work under site pressures.
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with QA/QC software/tools is an advantage.

Education & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Quality Control for construction projects (residential, commercial, or infrastructure).
- Hands-on experience in site inspections, material testing, and quality documentation.
- Prior experience working with consultants and client quality teams is preferred.

Targets:

- Ensure zero major quality non-conformities during project execution.
- Achieve consistent compliance with approved specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain complete and accurate quality documentation for audits and project handover.
- Support timely project delivery by preventing rework and quality-related delays.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
