Roles & Responsibilities

- Requirements gathering from the business users and developing system specifications for projects, enhancements, and bug/issues.
- Work directly with various levels of business users to document requirements, create visual diagrams, review specifications, obtain approval, support QA & UAT and post-production roll-out.
- Working with Offshore developers and external vendors to ensure specifications are understood, followed, and implemented properly.
- Issue resolution/escalation including prioritization and tracking.
- Tracking issues through JIRA and maintaining regular updates to sprint/Project progress.
- Other day today activities required for the IT department.

Key Skills

- Experience in working in Underwriting and Claims applications.
- Experience in data integration and data quality projects.
- Excellent understanding of how technology impacts the business.

Desired Candidate

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or equivalent college degree with relevant experience.
- 5+ years experience in IT as a Technical Business analyst/system analyst and created functional requirements for complex projects within the Insurance P&C; domain.
- Positive understanding of the underwriting process includes the policy lifecycle, coverages, endorsements, forms, rating, etc.
- Any Business analyst/IT Certification is a plus.
- Insurance specific training is a plus.
- Ability to work with technical teams (developers, architects, QA, infrastructure), business users and software vendors to document requirements on time.
