Production Supervisor (Printing & Carton Manufacturing)

Job Objective

To ensure smooth and efficient production by supervising machines, manpower, and workflow, maintaining quality standards, minimizing downtime, and delivering all jobs on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning

Review all job cards and production schedules.

Prioritize jobs based on delivery commitments and production deadlines.

Ensure the right job is assigned to the right machine at the right time.

Coordinate with all departments for smooth workflow.

2. Machine Supervision

Monitor all printing and production machines throughout the shift.

Ensure machines are operating efficiently and safely.

Identify any unusual machine performance or technical issues immediately.

Minimize machine downtime by taking prompt action.

3. Maintenance Coordination

Report machine breakdowns immediately to the maintenance or engineering team.

Coordinate with engineers for timely repairs.

Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.

Maintain machine maintenance records.

4. Quality Control

Monitor print quality, colour consistency, registration, finishing, and overall product standards.

Prevent defective products from moving to the next production stage.

Ensure all production meets company quality standards.

5. Workforce Management

Allocate work effectively among machine operators and helpers.

Guide, supervise, and motivate the production team.

Ensure discipline, punctuality, and adherence to company policies.

Monitor employee performance and productivity.

6. Production Monitoring

Track daily production targets and actual output.





Monitor job progress and resolve production delays.

Reduce material wastage and improve production efficiency.

Ensure on-time completion of all assigned jobs.

7. Safety & Housekeeping

Ensure compliance with all workplace safety procedures.

Maintain a clean and organized production area.

Promote safe machine operation and prevent workplace accidents.

8. Reporting

Prepare and submit:

Daily Production Report

Machine Downtime Report

Quality Inspection Report

Pending & Completed Job Report

Maintenance Follow-up Report

Daily Supervisor Checklist

Inspect all machines before production starts.

Review all job cards and production priorities.

Assign jobs according to the production schedule.

Monitor machine performance and production quality.

Report machine issues immediately.

Coordinate with the engineering team for repairs.

Track production targets throughout the shift.

Verify finished product quality.

Ensure workplace cleanliness and safety.

Submit the daily production report before the end of the shift.
