About the Role:

As the Head Manufacturing, you hold complete accountability for all aspects of Manufacturing across all

locations in India. You are the chief enabler for supporting sales and ensuring that budget plans made out for

the year are adhered to and met, as far as manufacturing operations are concerned. You as the Head

manufacturing should develop and implement Sigachi specifics consumption pattern of consumables, Raw

materials, fuel etc., and align with the annual budget.

You would be responsible for Production planning, Production Management, Inventory Management, Quality

Control, Maintenance and Equipment Balancing for optimum output.

The Must have attributes of the Head Manufacturing are:

 Technical Expertise – You are required to know comprehensive understanding of Manufacturing,

Production and utilities, as well as thorough understanding of Pollution control norms. Ability to operate

various MS Office software is a must.

 Strategic thinker – As an Independent Strategic thinker, you should anticipate,



think critically, interpret

and navigate the current sales environment and setup the manufacturing units for long term sustained

high capacity utilisation. You have to be able to identify bottle necks as well as potential risks, and

balance equipment to reduce these risks. In effect, you need to create Functional Strategy for all

Manufacturing units

 Capital Project Planner – Accesses need for improved capacity utilisation, and prioritise projects that

align with the sales needs of the market.

 Analytical Skills – As a Head Manufacturing, you ought to be analytically strong and capable of

interpreting and analysing production data. You must be able to spot patterns and trends in Data and

then apply that knowledge to make judgements and align with the annual consumption as per budgets.

 Problem Solving – You are expected to have strong problem solving skills and ability to recognise and

address complex Production issues.

 Integrity – You must be ethical and possess a high level of integrity. You must be able to make

judgements consistent with values and goals of Sigachi.

 Deep Understanding of the Local Dynamics of Manufacturing units – Each manufacturing unit is

different and has varied dynamics of local issues (Internal and External). You are expected to be well

versed with all these issues and ensure uninterrupted operations, aligning with the need of the market.

The desirable attributes of a Head Manufacturing are

 Attention to Details – Manufacturing is a very technical subject, which involves deep





understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, Processing and other utility equipment. Without clear

understanding of these things, managing issues at remote manufacturing locations would be a

challenge.

 Cultural long distance engagement – As the Head Manufacturing, you are expected to exert

your influence to make manufacturing units and the team there perform at peak efficiency. This

long distance engagement with units, across India would require good people skills.

 Communication: Good communication skills are a vital part of being a capable leader. In the

workplace, your effective and articulate communication would be the foundation of a productive

team

 Self-Awareness: Before you can identify strengths and weaknesses in others, you must be able

to do the same for yourself. Good leaders recognize what they can and cannot do well and then,

take action to improve. Showing vulnerabilities inspires team members to step up and possibly

become leaders themselves

 Organised: As a leader, you recognise the importance of being organised in the workplace. You

adhere to schedules, meet deadlines consistently and follow through with the promised results.

As an organised leader, you should be able to keep track of multiple assignments across multiple

manufacturing plants.

o Pharma, Food & Nutrition Equipment Operations

o Coefficient of consumption and Cost control

o Inventory control

o Health and Safety

o Pollution Controls Norms

o Liaison with local agencies like PCB, Factories Inspector, Electrical Inspector, PESO etc.

o Labour Control and Union Management

Experience:

18-22 years plus experience (in Pharma Manufacturing), of which at-least 3 years in a Leadership role responsible

for more than one unit and 5-7 years as Unit head of a manufacturing plant.
