1. Role Overview

Golcha Associated Group is looking to hire a Geologist for its Joint Venture operations in Tanzania. The position will be based out of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with local travel to mining sites, customer locations, vendors, business associates & other relevant locations as required.

The role is suitable for a mining & minerals professional with practical exposure to geological exploration, mineral identification, field surveys, sampling, mine planning support, quality assessment & site coordination.

Apart from core geological responsibilities, the selected candidate will also act as the local face of the organization in Tanzania & will support initial client coordination, vendor interaction, local stakeholder coordination & early stage business development activities.

This role requires a technically sound, field-oriented & responsible skilled who can work independently in Tanzania while coordinating closely with the India-based leadership team.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Geological Exploration & Field Work

- Conduct geological surveys, field mapping & mineral identification in assigned areas.
- Study geological formations, mineral deposits, rock types & ore body characteristics.
- Support identification of potential mineral-bearing zones for commercial exploration.
- Carry out sampling activities including surface sampling, pit sampling, channel sampling & drill sample coordination, wherever applicable.
- Maintain proper records of samples, site locations, coordinates, field observations & geological data.
- Prepare preliminary geological reports, field notes, photographs & site visit summaries.

B. Mining & Mineral Assessment

- Evaluate mineral quality, grade variation & commercial usability of available deposits.
- Coordinate with laboratory/testing teams for sample analysis & quality confirmation.
- Support technical understanding of minerals such as talc, soapstone, clay, kaolin & other relevant industrial minerals.
- Assist in estimating deposit potential, mineability & long-term supply feasibility.
- Provide technical inputs for mine planning, excavation approach & raw material sourcing.

C. Quality, Sampling & Documentation

- Ensure systematic sampling, proper sample labelling, storage & dispatch.
- Maintain records of test results, analysis reports, site observations & field photographs.




- Prepare technical summaries & updates for management review.
- Coordinate with quality, production, commercial & business teams for mineral suitability.
- Ensure robust documentation discipline for exploration, sampling & field activities.

D. Local Coordination & Representation

- Act as the initial point of contact for Golcha Associated Group / JV operations in Tanzania.
- Coordinate with local vendors, land owners, consultants, contractors, customers & business associates.
- Support local administration, site coordination & operational follow-ups.
- Represent the organization professionally during local meetings & initial discussions.
- Maintain regular communication with the India team on progress, challenges, local developments & opportunities.

E. Initial Client Handling & Business Development Support

- Support initial client meetings, product discussions & technical explanations.
- Help identify potential customers, buyers, processors or business partners in Tanzania & nearby markets.
- Share market intelligence related to minerals, pricing, competitors, local mining practices & customer requirements.
- Coordinate early-stage business development activities under the guidance of senior management.
- Support commercial discussions by providing technical inputs on mineral quality, availability & application suitability.

F. Compliance, Safety & Site Discipline

- Follow all site safety rules & ensure safe field practices during visits.
- Support compliance with local mining, environmental & operational requirements.
- Maintain ethical conduct while dealing with local stakeholders, vendors, customers & authorities.
- Ensure all field activities are carried out responsibly & in line with company values.
- Report any operational, safety, legal or stakeholder-related concern to management immediately.

3. Educational Qualification

Preferred qualifications:

- B.Sc. in Geology / Applied Geology / Earth Sciences
- M.Sc. in Geology / Applied Geology / Mineral Exploration
- B.Tech / M.Tech in Mining Engineering / Geological Technology / Mineral Exploration
- Diploma or certification in mining, mineral exploration, GIS, remote sensing or mine planning will be an added advantage.

4. Desired Experience

- 3 to 5 years of experience in geology, mining,



mineral exploration or industrial minerals.
- Experience in field exploration, sampling, geological mapping & mineral quality assessment.
- Exposure to industrial minerals such as talc, soapstone, clay, kaolin, calcium carbonate, quartz, feldspar, graphite or other non-metallic minerals will be preferred.
- Prior work experience in Africa / Tanzania will be an added advantage.
- Preference will be given to candidates of Indian origin already working in Tanzania.
- Candidates who are native to Tanzania & have relevant mining/minerals experience are also welcome.

5. Key Skills Required

- Strong understanding of geology, minerals & mining fundamentals.
- Ability to conduct field surveys, sampling & site-level mineral assessment.
- Basic knowledge of mining operations, raw material quality & deposit evaluation.
- Good documentation, reporting & data management skills.
- Ability to coordinate with local stakeholders, vendors, customers & business contacts.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of local language in Tanzania will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Business development orientation & client-facing confidence.
- High integrity, ownership, discipline & professional maturity.
- Willingness to travel locally within Tanzania as per business & site requirements.

6. Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be:

- Technically sound in geology & mineral exploration.
- Comfortable working in field locations & mining environments.
- Capable of representing the organization in Tanzania.
- Mature enough to handle local coordination & initial client discussions.
- Practical, result-oriented & commercially aware.
- Able to coordinate with Indian leadership & local Tanzanian stakeholders.
- Willing to travel to mining sites, customer locations & business locations as required.

7. Compensation & Benefits

Component Details

Monthly Salary - USD 1,000 to USD 1,200 per month

8. Reporting Structure

The role will report to the designated leadership / business head responsible for the Tanzania Joint Venture & will work in close coordination with the India-based management, mining, commercial & business development teams.
