Assistant Manager Stores & Inventory Excellence
Location-Delhi NCR / Rohtak (Shift working may be required)
Reporting To-Head- Central Planning & Business Support
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Stores & Inventory professional to lead warehouse operations,
inventory governance and material availability for a large industrial manufacturing facility.
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring optimum inventory levels, inventory accuracy, robust
reconciliation processes and implementation of best-in-class warehouse management practices. The
role demands close coordination with Procurement, Maintenance, Operations, Sales, Finance and
Administration to ensure uninterrupted plant operations while optimizing working capital tied up in
inventory.
This is a leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, inventory optimization and
continuous improvement across the stores function.
Key Responsibilities
Stores & Warehouse Operations
- Lead day-to-day operations of Central Stores.
- Ensure timely receipt, storage, preservation and issue of materials.
- Maintain accurate identification, codification and traceability of inventory.
- Implement best practices in warehouse layout, storage systems and material handling.
- Ensure compliance with FIFO, FEFO and appropriate preservation practices.
- Drive 5S, visual management and housekeeping standards within the stores.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of all materials.
Inventory Control & Reconciliation
- Maintain high inventory accuracy through robust reconciliation processes.
- Conduct cycle counts, periodic stock verification and annual physical inventory.
- Monitor and reduce slow-moving, non-moving and obsolete inventory.
- Drive inventory ageing analysis and corrective action plans.
- Optimize inventory levels without compromising plant reliability.
- Ensure timely closure of inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain complete audit trails and documentation
SAP & Digital Inventory Management
- Ensure accurate SAP transactions for Goods Receipt, Material Issue, Material Transfer,
Reservations and Inventory Adjustments.
- Maintain material master data integrity.
- Generate daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports.
- Develop inventory dashboards using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Support implementation of digital tools such as barcode systems, QR codes, RFID and warehouse
automation where applicable.
Audit & Compliance
- Lead internal and external stores audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and inventory control procedures.
- Maintain audit readiness at all times.
- Ensure documentation complies with statutory and organizational requirements.
Cross Functional Coordination
Work closely with:

Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Qualification or certification in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse
Management or Inventory Management will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of industrial mechanical and electrical spare parts is essential.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of total industrial experience.
- Minimum 3 years as a Stores Incharge / Stores Lead / Warehouse Lead.
- Experience managing annual spare parts and consumables issuance of 10 Crore or more.
- Experience leading a team of at least five direct reports.
- Experience handling MRO spare inventories in a manufacturing setting.
- Hands-on experience with SAP-based inventory management systems.
- Experience supporting 247 manufacturing operations will be preferred.
