Role & responsibilities:
Role Summary
The PM Contracts (Civil) will be responsible for managing the end-to-end contract lifecycle for civil packages and services. This includes preparing, reviewing, and executing contracts, ensuring adherence to SOPs and statutory regulations, driving vendor management, and mentoring the team for continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Efficiency
- Lead negotiations and finalize contracts for civil works to ensure cost optimization against budgets.
- Monitor adherence to contract cycle times and execution rates in line with SOPs.
- Track and control change orders, ensuring minimal deviations from approved scope.
- Establish benchmarks for Civil contract costing and validate vendor claims.
2. Vendor Management
- Assess and monitor contractor performance on delivery timelines, quality of civil work, and responsiveness.
- Resolve disputes within defined TATs in coordination with stakeholders.
- Maintain and update vendor performance scorecards for civil contractors.
3. Internal Processes & Compliance
- Oversee drafting, reviewing, and negotiating civil contracts, ensuring full compliance with SOPs and checklists.
- Ensure compliance with legal, statutory, and regulatory standards related to civil works.
- Facilitate documentation, approvals, and reporting for audit readiness.
- Ensure contracts are executed with minimal disputes or escalations.
4. Learning & Growth / Team Development
- Lead,
mentor, and coach a team of contract executives to build expertise in civil contracts.
- Drive adherence to the performance management process within the team.
- Facilitate technical and process training sessions as per the defined training calendar.
- Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and retention within the contracts function.
Key Competencies
- Strong expertise in Civil contracts management, rate analysis, and vendor negotiations.
- In-depth understanding of civil systems in real estate and construction projects.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, statutory requirements, and safety standards for civil works.
- Robust problem-solving and analytical ability to handle disputes and change orders.
- Leadership and team development skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and contract management tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience & Qualifications
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (mandatory). MBA in Contracts/Operations/Project Management preferred.
- Experience: 8–12 years of experience in contracts management, with at least 5 years in handling civil packages in real estate, infrastructure, or construction.
- Proven track record in contract negotiations, vendor management, and compliance for civil works.
- Experience in leading a team and managing cross-functional stakeholders.
