EDI Integration Architect-Role Overview
We are seeking an Intensively experienced highly skilled EDI Integration Architect to lead the design and governance of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solutions within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O;). This role is responsible for architecting seamless B2B integrations between D365 and external partners, ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure data exchange across high-volume transaction flows such as purchase orders, invoices, shipment notices, and acknowledgements. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in EDI standards with solid knowledge of D365 F&O; supply chain processes to deliver robust D365F&O; integration solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- EDI Architecture Design: Define end-to-end integration architecture, select appropriate EDI platforms (e.g., SPS Commerce, True-Commerce, ServiceNow, eCommerce, Anaplan, Concur, Billtrust, Power Platform, SPS Commerce (EDI), Microsoft Fabric, Leapwork, Logic Apps), and ensure scalability and reliability.
- Integration with D365: Map EDI transactions (850, 810, 856, etc.) to D365 data entities and SCM processes, enabling seamless Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash flows.
- Middleware & Azure Integration: Design integrations using Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, and Functions, deciding between real-time and batch processing.
- EDI Mapping & Transformation: Define translation rules between EDI formats (ANSI X12, EDIFACT)
and D365 structures, ensuring error handling and data integrity.
- Partner Onboarding: Onboard new vendors/customers, configure mappings, validate transactions, and establish document standards.
- Monitoring & Error Handling: Implement monitoring systems to track failed transactions, establish retry mechanisms, and ensure smooth operations.
- Performance & Scalability: Optimize message queues and data processing to handle peak transaction volumes.
- Governance & Security: Ensure secure data exchange through encryption, authentication, logging, and audit trails.
Key Skills & Experience
- EDI Expertise: Strong knowledge of ANSI X12, EDIFACT standards, and common EDI transactions (850, 810, 856, etc.).
- D365 F&O; Knowledge: Experience with data entities, SCM processes, and ERP workflows (Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Make-to-Order).
- Integration & Azure Skills: Proficiency in Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, and event-driven architecture.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on expertise in JSON/XML, REST/SOAP APIs, and data transformation.
- Soft Skills: Strong client-facing communication, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration skills.
Experience Required
- Intensive experience in IT integration architecture.
- Intensive experience with EDI solutions in ERP/D365 F&O; environments.
- Proven track record in designing and delivering scalable B2B integrations with enterprise partners.
