Position Overview:
A privacy Analyst is required to fulfil the duties at eCW Privacy Office for day to day Privacy related task in compliance with Privacy Rules and Regulations including but not limited to HIPAA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Initiates, facilitates and promotes activities to foster information security and privacy and trainings within eClinicalWorks.
- Ensure alignment between security and privacy practices.
- Implements and maintains the requirements and obligations of eClinicalWorks under its Corporate Integrity Agreement as assigned by the Compliance Officer and/or the Director of Compliance and the Privacy Officer.
- Advises eClinicalWorks leadership on issues concerning privacy matters including recommending controls designed to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Independently investigates or supervises the investigation of privacy incidents involving eClinicalWorks or its personnel.
- Develops, updates and ensures distribution of privacy policies and procedures.
- Identifies risk areas and assists in developing auditing, monitoring and oversight processes related to identify risks.
- Gather Root Cause Analysis
- Oversees the implementation of corrective, preventive actions and monitoring in response to identified issues and audits.
- Works collaboratively with eClinicalWorks personnel to resolve all privacy issues identified.
- Ensures proper investigations are conducted when required and all appropriate notifications are timely made as required by law.
- Periodically reports on privacy matters to the eClinicalWorks Compliance Committee.
- Report to eClinicalWorks management on privacy matters on a routine basis.
- Performing Risk Analysis and Risk Assessment
- Maintain detailed documentation of all privacy related matters
- Work on privacy & security related projects as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Ability:
- The successful candidate will be recognized for demonstrated knowledge in HIPAA, HITECH and other privacy laws and regulations.
- A bachelor degree is required and Masters Degree is preferred
- Experienced with in the industry is required
- Strong Product knowledge and workflow knowledge is required
- Clear Concise and Persuasive Speaking and Writing skills is required
- Solid organizational skills and an orientation to deadlines and details
- Ability to respond well under pressure
- Skills in use of information system, databases, excel and MS Word
- Enjoy working as member of team
- Well-developed communication and consensus building skills
