As our project portfolio continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Project Planning & Scheduling Engineer to establish and manage an integrated planning function that supports engineering, procurement, logistics, and construction teams across multiple concurrent projects.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Planning & Scheduling Engineer with a strong background in conventional building construction, including light gauge steel framing, reinforced concrete, cement-based structures, modular and prefabricated buildings, residential housing, schools, commercial buildings, camp infrastructure, and supporting facilities.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience planning and delivering projects in remote or logistically challenging environments, where procurement, shipping, transportation, material availability, and supply chain constraints are key drivers of project success.
The successful candidate will understand not only schedule development but also the practical construction sequencing and logistics required to deliver projects efficiently in remote locations.
The role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring integrated project schedules while coordinating engineering, procurement, logistics, manufacturing, shipping, and construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Role & responsibilities
Project Planning
- Develop comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Prepare integrated Level 14 project schedules.
- Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Create Project Execution Plans and schedule baselines.
- Define activity sequencing and dependencies.
- Identify and monitor critical path activities.
- Develop recovery schedules and mitigation plans when required.
- Maintain and update baseline programmes throughout project execution.
Scheduling & Programme Management
Develop and maintain:
- 7-Day Look-Ahead Schedules
- 14-Day Look-Ahead Schedules
- 30-Day Look-Ahead Schedules
- 60-Day Look-Ahead Schedules
- 90-Day Look-Ahead Schedules
- Rolling 12-Month Integrated Master Schedule
Integrate project schedules across:
- Engineering
- Procurement
- Manufacturing
- Shipping
- Logistics
Procurement Planning
Collaborate with procurement teams to:
- Develop procurement schedules
- Identify long lead items
- Link procurement milestones with construction activities
- Monitor procurement progress
- Identify procurement risks
- Produce procurement dashboards and reports
Logistics Planning
Work closely with logistics teams to:
- Forecast freight volumes
- Develop shipping schedules
- Forecast container requirements
- Plan trucking requirements
- Support warehouse planning
- Identify logistics constraints
- Prepare logistics look-ahead reports
Construction Planning
Support Project Managers by:
- Developing construction programmes
- Monitoring project progress
- Updating schedules
- Identifying delays and schedule impacts
- Forecasting project completion dates
- Developing recovery plans
- Monitoring productivity trends
Project Controls & Reporting
Prepare and maintain:
- Weekly Planning Reports
- Schedule Status Reports
- Critical Path Reports
- Executive Progress Reports
- S-Curves
- Progress Curves
- Earned Value Reports (where applicable)
- KPI Dashboards
- Delay Registers
- Risk Registers
- Resource Histograms
- Planning Performance Reports
Quantity Surveying Support (Desirable)

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling.
- Demonstrated experience delivering conventional building projects, including residential, commercial, educational, industrial, camp infrastructure, or similar developments.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and building methodologies.
- Experience on mining, industrial, infrastructure, or construction projects.
- Strong understanding of procurement, logistics, and project delivery processes.
- Experience integrating procurement, logistics, and supply chain activities into project schedules.
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in light gauge steel construction.
- Experience in reinforced concrete and conventional building construction.
- Experience in modular or prefabricated building projects.
- Experience in mining camps, accommodation villages, schools, healthcare facilities, or remote infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on projects in Papua New Guinea or similar international environments.
- Experience working on projects in Papua Current Guinea or similar international environments.
- Experience supporting remote project teams.
- Modular construction experience.
- Camp infrastructure project experience.
- Quantity Surveying background.

Working Arrangements
- Full-time remote position based in India.
- Exclusive assignment supporting PNG CR Services Company Ltd.
- Standard workload of 40 to 48 hours per week.
- Attendance at daily Microsoft Teams planning meetings.
- Participation in weekly project review meetings.
- Availability during Papua New Guinea business hours as required.
- Close collaboration with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, Logistics, and Construction teams.
Contract Duration
- Initial contract of 12 months.
- Extension based on performance and business requirements.
