Job Summary
The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all
fabrication activities in a heavy fabrication manufacturing workplace. The role
involves supervising daily operations such as cutting, welding, grinding, assembly, and
finishing to ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
The incumbent will ensure compliance with engineering drawings, quality standards,
and fabrication codes while optimizing manpower, materials, and equipment
utilization. The Fabrication Supervisor will lead and develop fabrication teams, resolve
production-related issues, monitor productivity, and implement continuous
improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance, product quality, and
workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise daily fabrication operations, including cutting, welding, grinding,
assembly, and finishing activities.
• Allocate manpower and resources to achieve production targets.
• Monitor production schedules and ensure on-time completion of jobs.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, engineering drawings, and
specifications.
• Conduct inspections and verify dimensional accuracy of fabricated parts.
• Train, guide, and evaluate fabrication operators and technicians.
• Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor material usage and minimize waste and rework.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
• Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of fabrication equipment and tools.
Required Skills & Competencies
• Knowledge of fabrication techniques, welding processes, and metalworking
operations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication schematics.
• Production planning and scheduling knowledge.
• Quality control and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with fabrication standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, etc.).
• Proficiency in CAD software.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP systems).
Qualification
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
Experience
•
•
Minimum 7 years of experience in heavy fabrication/manufacturing industry.
Hands-on experience in fabrication shop operations, including welding,
cutting, assembly, and metal fabrication processes.

Exposure to quality control standards, fabrication codes, and production
