Position- Medical Coder / Sr. Medical Coder (E/M & Surgery)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and certified Medical Coder to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a background in life sciences, be CPC certified, and possess robust knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. The role requires accurate translation of clinical documentation into standardized codes used for billing, insurance claims, and data analysis. Candidates with experience in computer systems and a background in medical-related jobs will be given strong consideration.
Key Responsibilities:

Review, analyze, and assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on clinical documentation.

Ensure accurate and timely coding of medical procedures and diagnoses for billing and reimbursement.

Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to clarify documentation and ensure coding accuracy.

Maintain compliance with federal regulations, insurance requirements, and internal coding guidelines.





Participate in audits and quality assurance activities.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding changes and industry best practices.

Enter and manage data using healthcare software systems and electronic health records (EHR).
Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or diploma in Life Sciences or a related field.

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is mandatory.

In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in using computers, EHR systems, and Microsoft Office tools.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:

13 years of experience in medical coding.

Experience in hospital or clinic-based coding environments.

Exposure to multiple specialties or inpatient/outpatient coding.

Additional certifications (e.g., CCS, CPMA, CRC) are a plus.
Other Considerations:

Candidates with relevant experience in other medical or healthcare-related jobs may also be considered, provided they demonstrate a strong understanding of medical coding practices.
