Role & responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day operations of the Engineering & Maintenance Department.
- Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance of all hospital equipment and infrastructure.
- Ensure smooth functioning of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, DG sets, lifts, medical gas pipeline systems, STP, WTP, and other utility services.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
- Coordinate with biomedical, housekeeping, nursing, and clinical departments for maintenance-related requirements.
- Monitor Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) and Comprehensive Maintenance Contracts (CMCs) of utilities and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with NABH, Fire Safety, Electrical Safety, Pollution Control, and other statutory regulations.
- Supervise maintenance staff, contractors, and service vendors.
- Prepare maintenance budgets and monitor departmental expenses.
- Maintain inventory of engineering spares and ensure timely procurement.




- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify maintenance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations and ensure minimum disruption to hospital operations.
- Maintain documentation, maintenance logs, equipment history, and statutory records.
- Drive energy conservation initiatives and optimize utility consumption.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports and maintenance performance reports for management.

Preferred candidate profile

- Strong knowledge of hospital engineering systems and facility management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance planning.
- Knowledge of NABH standards and statutory compliance.
- Robust troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Vendor and contractor management experience.
- Budgeting and cost control skills.
- Effective communication and coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance management software.
