Mandatory Skills

- Expert in SolidWorks (Parts, Assemblies, Sheet Metal, Weldments, Surfacing, Drawings & BOM).
- Robust experience in Sheet Metal Design and fabrication.
- Ability to prepare manufacturing/fabrication-ready drawings.
- Thorough understanding of GD&T; (ASME Y14.5).
- Strong knowledge of Limits, Fits & Tolerances.
- Experience in Tolerance Stack-up Analysis.
- Expertise in Reverse Engineering from physical samples, drawings, or 3D scans.
- Ability to convert concepts into production-ready designs.
- Experience in 3D printable designs (STL/STEP generation).
- BOM preparation and engineering documentation.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Knowledge of machining, laser cutting, bending, welding, CNC machining, and fabrication processes.
- Material selection and standard engineering practices.
- Preparation of assembly drawings, exploded views, and installation drawings.
- Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECR) and revision control.





Responsibilities

- Develop complete mechanical designs from concept to production.
- Design sheet metal enclosures, cabinets, brackets, housings, and fabricated assemblies.
- Create detailed manufacturing drawings with complete dimensions, tolerances, weld symbols, and notes.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure proper assembly.
- Prepare complete Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Generate STEP, STL, DXF, PDF, and other production files.
- Coordinate with fabrication vendors and production teams.
- Support prototype development, testing, and design improvements.

Preferred Experience

- 38 years of experience in mechanical product design.
- Experience in Defence, Marine, Industrial Equipment, Automation, or Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) preferred.
