Job Title: Purchase Head Wood Procurement (MDF Division)

Summary :

To lead and manage the wood procurement function for the MDF division, ensuring continuous availability of quality wood raw material at optimum cost through effective sourcing, vendor development, and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and execute wood procurement strategies as per MDF production requirements.

* Source and procure wood raw materials such as timber, wood logs, chips, and other biomass materials required for MDF manufacturing.

* Develop and maintain relationships with wood suppliers, contractors, traders, and authorized sources.

* Identify new sourcing areas and build a solid supplier network.

* Negotiate rates, contracts, payment terms, and supply schedules with suppliers.

* Monitor wood availability, market trends, seasonal fluctuations, and price movements.

* Ensure timely supply of quality wood material to meet production targets.

* Manage vendor evaluation based on quality, quantity, cost, and delivery performance.

* Coordinate with production,



planning, stores, quality, and logistics teams for smooth material flow.

* Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and documentation related to wood procurement.

* Maintain procurement MIS, supplier records, purchase reports, and cost analysis.

* Lead and guide the wood procurement team for efficient operations.

* Drive cost optimization and improve procurement processes.

Required Skills

* Strong knowledge of wood procurement and timber markets.

* Experience in wood sourcing for MDF, plywood, particle board, or wood-based industries.

* Strong vendor network and negotiation skills.

* Understanding of wood quality parameters and specifications.

* Good knowledge of supply chain and inventory planning.

* Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Qualification & Experience

* Graduate/Postgraduate in any discipline.

* Good experience in wood procurement, preferably in MDF, plywood, or wood panel manufacturing industries.
