Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

- Diagnose and manage patients with orthopaedic disorders and trauma.
- Perform elective and emergency orthopaedic surgeries independently.
- Conduct outpatient (OPD) consultations, inpatient care, and emergency services.
- Participate in trauma and emergency on-call duties.
- Ensure adherence to patient safety protocols and infection control practices.
- Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation.

Academic Responsibilities

- Teach MBBS students, interns, postgraduate residents, and fellows.
- Deliver lectures, bedside clinics, demonstrations, seminars, and case discussions.
- Guide postgraduate dissertations and research projects as per institutional norms.
- Conduct formative and summative assessments.
- Develop teaching materials and academic content.

Research Responsibilities

- Initiate and participate in clinical and academic research.
- Publish research papers in indexed peer-reviewed journals.
- Present scientific papers at national and international conferences.
- Participate in research grants and team-oriented projects.

Administrative Responsibilities





- Assist the Head of Department in departmental planning and administration.
- Participate in institutional committees and accreditation activities.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Support quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Quality & Compliance

- Maintain standards prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Follow hospital protocols, ethical standards, and biomedical waste management guidelines.
- Participate in continuing medical education (CME) and faculty development programs.

Qualifications

Essential

- MBBS recognized by the National Medical Commission.
- MS/DNB in Orthopaedics from a recognized institution.
- Additional qualifications as per NMC norms (if applicable).

Experience

- Experience as prescribed under the latest NMC eligibility criteria for the post of Professor.
- Proven experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Independent experience in managing trauma and elective orthopaedic procedures.
- Research publications as required by NMC regulations.
