Requirements

- 8–10 years of experience in software engineering, with significant experience building and scaling backend or platform systems.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, networking, and database design.
- Deep expertise in backend development using technologies such as Node.js, Java, Go, Python, or similar.
- Proven track record of designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in high-growth environments.
- Experience leading architecture decisions and delivering complex technical initiatives across multiple teams.
- Demonstrated success in scaling platforms through rapid growth phases, from early-stage systems to enterprise-grade infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of system reliability, observability, performance optimization, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with platform engineering, developer productivity tooling, shared services, infrastructure abstractions, or internal developer platforms.
- Hands-on expertise with modern cloud platforms, containerization, orchestration, and CI/CD practices.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and make sound technical decisions with incomplete information.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers, elevate technical standards, and drive engineering culture.
- Experience in fintech, payments, lending, or other high-volume transactional systems is a strong advantage.
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and bias for action, with a focus on delivering meaningful business outcomes.

Responsibilities





- Define and drive the long-term technical vision and architecture of the platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability as the business grows.
- Lead the design and evolution of systems capable of supporting 10x–100x scale in traffic, data volume, and operational complexity.
- Own critical technical initiatives from concept to production, ensuring successful delivery and measurable business impact.
- Make high-leverage architectural decisions and guide teams through complex system design challenges.
- Identify performance, reliability, and scalability bottlenecks proactively, and drive effective solutions before they become business constraints.
- Serve as a technical leader across engineering teams, influencing architecture, engineering standards, and best practices.
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, code reviews, technical discussions, and career development.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering leadership, and business stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into scalable technical solutions.
- Drive engineering excellence through solid software design principles, operational rigor, testing strategies, observability, and code quality practices.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that span multiple teams, ensuring alignment, execution, and successful outcomes.
- Provide technical guidance during critical incidents, production challenges, and system migrations.
- Challenge assumptions, evaluate trade-offs with data, and advocate for solutions that balance short-term delivery with long-term platform health.
- Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and high technical standards across the organization.
- Contribute hands-on to critical areas of the codebase while enabling teams to execute independently at scale.
