About the role
:
- Perform chiller performance testing, qualification and troubleshooting of refrigeration systems and controls during validation and field issues.
- Drive system-level engineering design, covering refrigeration cycle, hydronics and overall system integration
- Perform advanced engineering calculations and simulations (thermal performance, pressure drop, load matching, component sizing) to ensure system performance meets mission-critical reliability expectations
- Lead technical risk identification and mitigation through DFMEA, SFMEA, RRCA, design reviews, and failure analysis
- Analyze customer specifications and translate them into customized chiller configurations (capacity, ambient conditions, redundancy, efficiency targets)
- Design and validate hydronic systems, including pump selection, piping layout, pressure drop calculations, and integration of hydronic modules
- Support customer technical submittals, including P&IDs;, performance data, and resolve engineering queries during project execution
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and codes (AHRI, ASME, PED, IS, internal design guidelines)
- Act as the technical lead for ETO chiller projects, driving end-to-end execution while ensuring alignment with customer requirements and specifications.
- Analyze test data and correlate with design predictions, driving root cause analysis and design improvements for any performance gaps
- Lead issue resolution during testing, including troubleshooting of refrigeration circuit, control issues, oil management, and system tuning
Key Requirement:
o Strong expertise in chiller design and system engineering (refrigeration cycle, heat exchangers, compressors, hydronics)
o Hands-on experience in chiller performance testing, FAT/FWT,
qualification, and troubleshooting
o Proficiency in engineering calculations (thermal performance, pressure drop, load matching, component sizing)
o Experience in ETO design and customization based on customer requirements
o Solid understanding of hydronic system design (pump selection, piping, flow balancing)
o Strong knowledge of industry standards (AHRI, ASME, PED, IS)
o Experience in design validation, root cause analysis (RCA), and failure analysis
o Working knowledge of DFMEA, SFMEA, RRCA, and structured design review processes
o Strong capability in technical issue resolution during testing, validation, and field support
o Good understanding of customer technical submittals (P&IDs;, performance data, documentation)
o Effective cross-functional coordination and technical leadership in ETO projects
