- To take care of all equipment available here
- To be responsible for issuing and receiving linen to/from laundry and maintaining accurate records.
- To verify & keep an account of the linen packs available at the department.
- To coordinate with the scrub nurse for the washing of the instruments and scrutinizing the instruments for damage or need for maintenance.
- To receive unsterilized items and issue sterilized items.
- To maintain record of sterilization cycles of all machines.
- To use various quality control methods such as, chemical indicators, biological indicators and physical inspection.
- To ensure that the ultrasonic cleaner machine is cleaned every three hours by the cleaning solution.
- To Verify & ensure that all the instruments cleaned by using ETO (Ethylene Tri Oxide) are well sterilized & accurately labelled.
- To Ensure that the temperature & humidity in the sterile area is maintained as per the norms and the details of the same are documented in the records.
- To ensure that CSSD is fumigated as per the schedule.
- To ensure correct ‘Bio-medical Waste’ disposal methods
- To coordinate with Anaesthetist / Surgeon for preparing instruments kits as per surgery / procedure
