Responsibilities:

- Create conceptual and detailed designs based on project requirements and product specifications.
- Perform design calculations for structural integrity, component sizing, and tolerance analysis.
- Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (SOLID EDGE preferred).
- Ensure accurate design data entry and updates within CAD and PLM systems.
- Support problem analysis, participate in design reviews, and contribute to effective solutions.
- Conduct basic simulations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate design performance.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) compliance.
- Prepare and maintain design documentation, BOMs, and technical reports.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (production, quality, electrical) to ensure design feasibility and implementation.
- Mentor and assist junior engineers or interns as needed.

Skills Required:

- Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Proficiency in CAD software (preferably Siemens NX, or alternatives such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360).




- Ability to perform engineering and design calculations (stress, deflection, fits, power transmission, etc.).
- Good understanding of DFM/DFA principles and manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, fabrication, casting).
- Familiarity with PLM tools and revision control systems.
- Basic experience with simulation and FEA tools.
- Awareness of relevant mechanical design standards and material selection practices.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in mechanical or product design.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens NX or equivalent CAD tools.
- Familiarity with design validation, simulation, and mechanical testing processes.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and stay updated with contemporary design tools and methodologies.
