Position Title : Oracle OBPM Specialist (Oracle Banking Payments)

Reporting to : Payment Domain Lead

Location : Chennai, India

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Oracle OBPM Specialist with strong hands-on experience working on Oracle Banking Payments (OBPM) version 14.7 or higher. The role requires deep technical expertise across OBPM configuration, customization, and integration, with the ability to support business, operational, and regulatory payment requirements within a transaction banking environment.

The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of banking payments, payment messaging standards, and end-to-end payment processing, and will work closely with business, functional, and technical teams to deliver robust and scalable payment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

This role is responsible for the design, configuration, customization, and support of Oracle Banking Payments solutions, including but not limited to:

Configure and customize payment platform workflows and processing rules to meet business and regulatory requirements.

Support payment orchestration, validation, enrichment, routing, and exception handling across transaction banking payments.

Design and implement integrations between OBPM and transaction banking payment systems, channels, and external clearing networks.

Build and support web service, filebased, and APIdriven integrations for payment processing.

Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional and technical solutions.





Assess functional specifications to determine what can be delivered through core OBPM platform capabilities versus what requires development through extension or integration layers.

Work closely with technical and middleware teams to ensure integration patterns between OBPM and banking payment channels/systems are accurate, scalable, and aligned to requirements.

Support testing activities, including unit testing, system integration testing, UAT, and production readiness.

Troubleshoot and resolve payment processing and integration issues across development, test, and production environments.

Produce clear technical and functional documentation aligned to delivery and operational standards.

Key Qualifications

510 years of overall experience, with at least 2-4 years of hands-on experience working with Oracle Banking Payments (OBPM) version 14.7 or higher.

Strong experience configuring and customizing payment workflows and processing logic within enterprise payment platforms.

Experience integrating OBPM with transaction banking payment systems, channels, and external clearing networks.

In-depth knowledge of banking payment systems and schemes, including FAST, SWIFT, GIRO, and RTGS.

Strong understanding of ISO 20022 messaging standards, including PAIN, PACS, and CAMT message types.

Strong understanding of transaction banking payment solutions and platforms.

Ability to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for payment solutions.

Strong collaboration skills to liaise effectively with technical, middleware, and integration teams.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in transaction processing and logic integration.

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills
