Position Summary

To carry out design, engineering, and product development of advanced electro-mechanical security screening systems, including X-Ray Baggage Scanners, Under Vehicle Surveillance Systems (UVSS), X-Ray Body Scanners, Cargo Inspection Systems, and related security products. The role involves end-to-end product development, engineering analysis, manufacturing support, vendor development, quality assurance, and cross-functional project leadership.

Educational Qualification

- B.Tech./B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Govt.Engg College
- M.Tech.(Preferred)

Experience

- 15–20 years of relevant experience in design, product development, and engineering of electro-mechanical systems.
- Experience in security screening equipment, industrial machinery, automation systems, special-purpose machines (SPM), medical imaging equipment, or similar products preferred.
- Proven experience in working multidisciplinary engineering products.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design

- Lead the complete product development lifecycle from concept to commercialization.
- Design and develop electro-mechanical systems for security screening and inspection equipment.
- Prepare product specifications, design requirements, technical documentation and engineering standards.
- Drive innovation and continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory and industry standards.

Engineering Analysis & Validation

Conduct and supervise engineering calculations and analyses including:

- Structural analysis
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Thermal analysis
- Vibration and fatigue analysis
- Reliability engineering
- Validate designs through simulations, prototyping, testing, and field performance evaluations
- Design reviews, failure analysis,



root cause investigations, and corrective actions

Product Development

- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and cost optimization.
- Develop production processes and assembly methodologies.
- Support pilot production, process validation, and production ramp-up activities.
- Identify opportunities for product cost reduction and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers and manufacturing partners.
- Conduct vendor assessments and technical evaluations.
- Collaborate with procurement teams for sourcing of critical components and assemblies.
- Negotiate technical specifications and ensure supplier compliance with quality standards.

Project Management

- Lead multiple product development projects simultaneously.
- Develop project schedules, resource plans, and risk analysis.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including electronics, software, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and service departments.
- Monitor project milestones and ensure timely delivery.

Technical Skills Required

- Strong expertise in electro-mechanical product design and development.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as: SolidWorks, AutoCAD.

Experience with engineering simulation tools:

- ANSYS.
- SolidWorks Simulation.

Solid Knowledge of:

- Sheet metal design.
- Structural fabrication.
- Precision mechanical assemblies.
- Motion systems and mechanisms.
- Electrical enclosure design.
- Industrial standards and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems and engineering change management.
