Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Refineries, Petrochemicals, and Chemicals projects
Software Skills:
- Proficient in MS-Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc. (in any widely used material softwares)
- Experience in Aveva ERM & PV-Elite is preferred.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Must be fully competent in performing all conventional aspects of Piping Material.
- Independently performs Pipe Spec Engineering activities for all phases of Piping design for a small project or selected segments of a larger project.
- Meets with clients’ technical staff to discuss technical information contained in the client specifications.
- Performs calculations for a project including pipe wall thickness, branch reinforcement, and when required vacuum calculations.
- Prepares Piping specifications correctly identifying materials for purchase. Piping components include pipe, fittings, flange, bolting, gaskets,
and valves.
- Evaluates vendors' technical bids for piping components when requested to assure compliance with specifications.
- Communicates specification changes to client, manufacturers/fabricators, and other design disciplines.
- Reviews and approves design drawings when requested for a project.
- Participates in reviews of PFD's and P&ID;'s on an as-needed basis.
- Participates in the preparation of piping line lists. Responsibilities include design pressures and temperatures, pressure testing requirements, coatings, insulation, and special requirements relating to material fabrication and installation.
- Participates in preparation of design guides, guide specifications and contract proposals involving piping design.
- Replies to requests for information, and technical issues relating to piping during the fabrication and construction phases of the project.
