Job Summary

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), automation systems, jigs, fixtures, conveyors, and assembly machines. The candidate will work closely with manufacturing, electrical, PLC, and assembly teams to deliver customized automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design SPMs, automation machines, jigs, fixtures, and conveyors.
- Prepare concept layouts, 3D models, and 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Develop assembly drawings, detail drawings, and GA (General Arrangement) drawings.
- Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Select standard components such as bearings, linear guides, motors, gearboxes, cylinders, and sensors.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Assembly, Electrical, and PLC teams.
- Support machine assembly, trials, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Modify existing machine designs based on customer requirements.
- Ensure designs meet quality, safety, and cost standards.




- Maintain engineering documents and design revisions.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals.
- AutoCAD and SolidWorks (or Creo/CATIA/NX) proficiency.
- Knowledge of 2D & 3D modeling.
- Understanding of GD&T; and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of machine elements, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, welding, assembly).
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Valuable communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

- BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- SPM/Automation/Machine Design.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in SPM machine design.
- Knowledge of pneumatic circuits and motion systems.
- Exposure to assembly lines, conveyors, robotic cells, and automation equipment.
- Ability to interact with customers and suppliers for design discussions.

Software Knowledge

- AutoCAD
- SolidWorks
- Creo / CATIA / Siemens NX (preferred)
- Microsoft Excel & Word
